This bourbon, made to honor Thomas Jefferson, undergoes a unique aging process. It is firstly aged in new American white oak barrels for about eight years. Then, it goes through an additional maturation period of fifteen months in ex-rum barrels from Gosling's Family Reserve.
Tasting Notes
Nose: A strong Rum influence with molasses, banana, and crusty sourdough.
Flavor: Caramel corn, cinnamon, chocolate ganache, and vanilla.
Finish: A long finish of vanilla, soft allspice, and toasted marshmallow.
